Driving Innovation and Reducing Costs using Social Computing
In the current economic environment, everyone is being asked to reduce costs,
improve efficiency and increase productivity, and by the way continue to
innovate. Every one of these challenges requires that employees find better
approaches and utilize better tools for collaborating. At the heart of
collaboration is finding the necessary information and resources, building
relationships and establishing informal or formal communities. The process is
very people-centric or social. Therefore, social computing can be used to
enhance and facilitate collaboration. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
(MOSS) provides key functionality for delivering social computing solutions. The
MOSS social computing platform can also be extended through customization or the
addition of third party tools to further enhance the problem-solving capability.
This workshop will show how social computing and SharePoint can be used to drive
innovation, solve real business problems, and reduce costs.
